Amazon - Seller Providing An Alternative Product (bait and switch)

This is post five of my 10-part series on Amazon

Problem: Seller providing an alternative product (bait and switch)

I needed some padlocks for out at the farm, we had a new boarder and now things are missing and gates are suddenly opening themselves up. It’s like suddenly the farm is haunted. I did some research and found the CINCINNO Weatherproof Padlocks for Outdoor Use, 6 Pack Keyed Alike Padlocks with 1-9/16″ Wide Body, Heavy Duty Pad Lock for Sheds, Storage Unit, Gate, Fence, Toolbox, Locker.

This was simply a 6-pack of metal keyed alike padlocks with a plastic covering that is supposed to keep them “weatherproof. Sadly, within two weeks they all rusted and for some strange reason the lock cylinders were all calcifying. Two locks had totally failed and several I had to remove the black hard plastic covering as they were making the shackle too thick and I could not get the lock through the hole.

It was really strange, but the seller must have known, because I gave a negative review, which Amazon wouldn’t approve, but they told me to contact the seller. I used the provided form and the seller replied, gave me a refund, didn’t want the locks back, and sent me a “new and improved” “weatherproof” lock. The new locks lasted a few months before you can no longer close the shackle. these are probably decent regular locks, but “Weatherproof Padlocks for Outdoor Use”, these are not.

Amazon, you have a problem with reviews, you should never refuse a legitimate review. I didn’t use any foul language (I know, right?), I was a confirmed purchaser, and everything I said was a fact, yet you refused the review, that is wrong!!!
