Insane Car Crash in Baltimore

The Maryland Attorney General’s Office’s Independent Investigations Division on Thursday released the video of this fatal crash, late this week. This fatal car crash, captured on Baltimore CitiWatch cameras, occurred when 33-year-old Shawn Lee Brunson, made the bad choice to steal a black 2017 Hyundai Sonata and ran from the police on February 8th, 2023. As he sped through the streets of Baltimore, at the intersection of North Avenue and North Wolfe Street, he hit another car. The force of the collision sent both vehicles into a building, which caused it to collapse.

A pedestrian (54-year-old Alfred Fincher) near the building was buried by the debris. He was pulled from the wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene. Five other people including two in the stolen car were injured and hospitalized. Hyundai Sonata

Besides the obvious loss of life, another sad part is that the lawyer representing Fincher’s family argued that “the officer did not break off the pursuit,”.

Are you fucking serious, nevermind the fact that Fincher stole a car. Never mind the fact that Fincher was speeding. Never mind the fact that he was trying to evade the police. You are seriously going to argue that it was the cop’s fault. Freaking scumbag lawyer, anything for a freaking dollar. I often wonder how these jackasses sleep at night, I know that I wouldn’t be able to if I were in that situation.

According to online court records, Brunson is a previously convicted gun offender who failed to register back in 2016.

Since then he’s also been found guilty of a 2021 assault that landed him a 15-year prison sentence, with all of about seven months suspended.

On other websites that have posted this story, some comments suggest that the owner of the building should be responsible for the accident, as the building was empty and should have been demolished.

What really bothers me is that he was convicted in 2021 and was supposed to be doing a 15-year stint in prison. I think the judge, in that case, needs to answer to the State as to why he let him basically go. We need to stop that crap. I have read articles about criminals with 7 or 8 individual DUI arrests and they still have their damn driver’s licenses. This shit needs to stop!
