Hidden Camera Detection - Part 2

This is the second post in the Hidden Camera Detection series. The first post can be read here. This time I’m testing the Hidden Camera Detector (By The Hidden).

Hidden Camera Detector (by The Hidden)
The Hidden camera detector by “The Hidden”, has four options: “Hidden Camera“; “Graph“; “Object Detector” and “Sensor“. But it really actually has a hidden fifth option called crash, as it crashes often. The only one that actually did anything interesting was the Object Detector, which is where the app, using AI tries to identify the objects that are in front of it. It did produce some interesting but not impressive results. It did detect my cameras, but it didn’t see them as cameras, it picked one up as a person with a 43% confidence rating another as a traffic light with a 46% and my keyboard as a keyboard with a 73% rating. It also picked up any of the bottles of my collection on the shelf and my Marine Corps metal cut-out as a clock with a 64% accuracy. The problem with this is that these objects are objects I know and are very visible. A hidden camera, is well, hidden.

This app was only slightly more impressive than the previous app. I hope it gets better from here.

Between the time I performed my testing and the time I made this post, this particular app was removed from the Google Play store.

Up next will be Spy Camera Detector App (by High Quality KK Developers)
