Great opportunity for some nice and free Cyber Security Tools

The Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is responsible for our country’s national security. They have their finger on the pulse of various software applications and cybersecurity services to help mitigate and repair cyber issues. Their team has created a new web page that provides “one-stop shopping” of roughly 100 tools and services for individuals (and businesses) to use. Also listed on the web page is a link to CISA’s “Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog“, which possesses nearly 400 entries that SysAdmins should be aware of.

The list currently includes tools from companies like CISA, Microsoft, Google, Cloudflare, Cisco, Center for Internet Security, CrowdStrike, Tenable, AT&T Cybersecurity, IBM, Mandiant, Splunk, VMware, SANS, Secureworks, and Palo Alto Networks.

**NOTE** The website isn’t very straightforward. The tools and services are at the bottom of the page under the following categories (just click on the “+” sign).

Reducing the Likelihood of a Damaging Cyber Incident
Take Steps to Quickly Detect a Potential Intrusion
Ensure That The Organization is Prepared to Respond if an Intrusion Occurs
Maximize the Organization’s Resilience to a Destructive Cyber Incident

Welcome to the Average Joe Weekly blog. This is basically my place on the web where I can help spread some of the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years. I served 10+ years in the Marine Corps on Active Duty, but that was some 25 years ago.
