“Woke”

I’m about done and over with all this “Wokeness” crap. In 2017, Oxford English Dictionary added Woke as an adjective. As an adjective, it means:

“alert to injustice in society, especially racism.”

And today, it has been twisted and weaponized and used for every possible cause there is. To mean “woke” is “politically correct” for today. When PC became the buzzword, everyone started to use it for their personal agenda and it got twisted and misused, so much so that it no longer meant anything at all.

But this post isn’t about the word “woke” or the actual meaning of “woke”. It is about how the MSM is misusing it every single day and not just the word, but the meaning behind it.

As an example to make themselves seem more “woke” the Washington Post blamed the Waukesha Christmas Parade massacre on the SUV and not Darrell Brooks, who ran his SUV through a Christmas Parade killing 6 and injuring more than 40 more. But to make themselves sound like they are in tune with the people, they blame the SUV, not the driver. Why would this action make them sound more in tune with their readers? Simply put, it supports the anti-gun movement. After all, it is the gun that kills people, not the person pulling the trigger.

There is a song by Rapper Tom MacDonald called “Fake Woke“, that really has some very real lyrics

Tom MacDonald – “Fake Woke”

I think it’s crazy I’m the one who they labelled as controversial
And Cardi B is the role model for 12-year-old girls
There’s rappers pushing Xanax at the top of the Billboard
But if I mention race in a song, I’m scared I’ll get killed for it
It’s backwards, it’s getting exponentially dumb
It’s more difficult to get a job than purchase a gun
Eminem used to gay bash and murder his mom
And now he doesn’t want fans if they voted for Trump

We’re ashamed to be American, you should probably love it
‘Cause you have the right to say it and not get strung up in public
As children, we were taught how to walk and talk
But the system wants adults to sit down and shut up
Cancel culture runs the world now, the planet went crazy
Label everything we say as homophobic or racist
If you’re white, then you’re privileged, guilty by association
All our childhood heroes got Me-Too’d or they’re rapists

They never freed the slaves, they realized that they don’t need the chains
They gave us tiny screens, we think we’re free ’cause we can’t see the cage
They knew that race war would be the game they need to play
For people to pick teams, they use the media to feed the flame

They so fake woke, facts don’t care ’bout feelings
They know they won’t tell me what to believe in
They so fake woke, same old safe zones
They so fake woke, facts don’t care ’bout your feelings

I think it’s crazy all these people screaming facts, but they fake woke
Hate their neighbour ’cause he wears a mask or he stays home
Has a daughter, but his favourite artist said he slays hoes
Picks her up from school, music slaps on the way home
Censorship’s an issue ’cause they choose what they erase
There’s a difference between hate speech and speech that you hate
I think Black Lives Matter was the stupidest name
When the system’s screwing everyone exactly the same

I just wanna spend Thanksgiving Day with food and my family
Without being accused of celebrating native casualties
We got so divided, it’s black and white and political
Republicans are bigots, libtards if you’re liberal
There’s riots in our streets, and it’s just getting worse
Y’all screaming, “Defund the police”, y’all are genius for sure
They’re underfunded already, they’re way too busy to work
Order food and call the cops, see what reaches you first

Segregation ended, that’s a lie in itself
That was a strategy to make us think they were trying to help
They knew that racism was hot if they designed it to sell
We buy up every single box and divide us ourselves

They so fake woke, facts don’t care ’bout feelings
They know they won’t tell me what to believe in
They so fake woke, same old safe zones
They so fake woke, facts don’t care ’bout your feelings

We use violence to get peace and wonder why it isn’t working
That’s like sleeping with a football team to try and be a virgin
Politicians are for sale, and someone always makes the purchase
But you and I cannot afford it, our democracy is worthless
If a man has mental illness, call him crazy, say it silently
When country’s going crazy, we accept it as society
Get sick and take a pill when the side effects get you high
You get addicted like these rappers dying fighting with sobriety

Censoring the facts turns our children into idiots
They claim it’s for our safety, I’ll tell you what it really is
Removing information that empowers all the citizens
The truth doesn’t damage points of view that are legitimate
They’re tryna change amen to a-men and women
How’d we let ’em make praying a microaggression?
Instead of asking God for the strength to keep winning
We cheat to get ahead, and then we ask Him for forgiveness

Feminism used to be the most righteous of fights
But these days, it feels like they secretly hate guys
I don’t trust anyone who bleeds for a week and don’t die
I’m just kidding, but everything else that I said is right

They so fake woke, facts don’t care ’bout feelings
They know they won’t tell me what to believe in
They so fake woke, same old safe zones
They so fake woke, facts don’t care ’bout your feelings

Now for those of you who aren’t in the know or just could care less about “popular” pop music (like me), the second line in the lyrics refers to Cardi B and her being a role model to 12-year-old girls. But in 2020 Cardi B released a song titled “WAP“, which stands for “Wet Ass Pussy“. The lyrics to WAP are certainly not something I would want my daughter to listen to when she was 12 years old (or 18 years old for that matter).

Lyrics like:

I said certified freak, seven days a week
Wet ass pussy, make that pullout game weak, woo!

and

Yeah, you fucking with some wet ass pussy
Bring a bucket and a mop for this wet ass pussy
Give me everything you got for this wet ass pussy

and

Put this pussy right in yo’ face
Swipe your nose like a credit card

and
Hop on top, I want a ride
I do a kegel while it’s inside

and

I want you to park that big Mack truck right in this little garage
Make it cream, make me scream

And it gets worse, you can read the entire lyrics for the song here

The saddest part about WAP was that it was on the Billboard charts and got major radio play. Sure the radio edit version was heavily censored, but the version on popular music websites was not edited and that is where the youth listen to their music today, not the radio.

The third line in Fake Woke is “There’s rappers pushing Xanax at the top of the Billboard“, which refers to the current young generation’s affinity for Xanax and how rappers like Wifisfuneral, Vic Mensa, Lil Durk, Lil Xan, and Robb Banks all sign about it in their songs. Xanax is the most prescribed psychiatric drug in the U.S. It’s part of a group of anti-anxiety drugs known as benzodiazepines — or benzos. They’re commonly prescribed for anxiety, panic disorder, and insomnia. In 2020, 91 million prescriptions were written for benzos — roughly one in eight American adults use them. The last two lines of the first verse are “Eminem used to gay bash and murder his mom; And now he doesn’t want fans if they voted for Trump”, which refers to rapper Eminem rapping about bashing gays and killing his mom, to now he states that he doesn’t want you as a fan if you voted for President Trump.

So please explain to me how my personal choice to vote for someone has any effect on my personal choice to listen to your music. Those are both my personal choices and not yours. When did we start to hate people based on their political beliefs? If I hate someone based on their race, the color of their skin, or nationality, I’m a racist and that is bad. If I hate someone based on their sexual orientation I’m homophobic and that is bad. If I hate someone based on their gender, then I’m sexist. But….. It is Okay for me to hate someone based on their political beliefs. How is that any different? If you stop and look at the election results for the past 7 presidential elections, we have been 50/50 split (give or take a few one way or the other) for 25 years now, which was the Bill Clinton/Al Core second term election. I personally don’t care who you voted for, we can still be friends.

In the second verse, he raps “As children, we were taught how to walk and talk; But the system wants adults to sit down and shut up”, which is so true today. It doesn’t matter your race, gender, cause, or belief, generally, you will be told to sit down and shut up or some form of those words. Compliance is the key and the Government will do anything to keep us compliant. Just sit down and shut up Skippy.

The words “Cancel culture runs the world now, the planet went crazy; Label everything we say as homophobic or racist; If you’re white, then you’re privileged, guilty by association”, couldn’t be any more true.

It is as if the Government wants us to be divided against each other. I am personally over “Cancel Culture” and I have had enough of that crap. Everything has to have a label and they all seem to be negative to one group or the other. I’m racist because I’m white, even though I have many friends that are different skin tones than I, many that are different nationalities than I, and even some that are different sexually-orientated than I.

I don’t see them any differently and they don’t see me any differently. We get along just fine until there is an outside influence that is intent on tearing that dynamic apart and creating drama. Then I become labeled a “racist” and I have white privilege. I’m sorry, I don’t have any special privileges. I was raised in an interracial neighborhood, I went to a school where the population was intermixed and they all had the exact same educational opportunities as I did. My very first best friend was a brown-skinned girl. She and I never saw our difference in skin tone to be a problem. I remember being in her family’s basement listening to “Fire” from the Ohio Players on the turntable. Then she would play “ABC” from the Jackson Five and so on. I actually enjoyed learning about her culture and I enjoyed her company today she and I are still friends and talk periodically. So stop making it a race thing! It isn’t a racial thing, it is an MSM and Government thing, period.

Later in the song, there is a verse “Hate their neighbor ’cause he wears a mask or he stays home”, which really rings true to me. COVID has been a great divider in this country. The MSM and Government have used it to help divide the country like they used to race. There are “mask holes” which is slang for who are people who wear masks in an environment where no one is wearing a mask, or the opposite, where someone doesn’t wear a mask when everyone else is wearing one. Use like “What a mask hole for not wearing a mask”. You have no idea what reason your neighbor chooses to wear a mask, what battles they are dealing with, and who they might be trying to protect. Maybe someone in their house is elderly or immunocompromised. Maybe your neighbor themselves is the person they are trying to protect. But ultimately it doesn’t matter and why does it bother you that they are wearing a mask? Just remember, everyone has their own personal battles and you aren’t in their shoes, you don’t know them, so just let them run their own race and leave them alone. Hell, be a good friend, a good neighbor, and support them. When you are around them, stay 6′ away, put on a mask, and be supportive.

So many of the words in these lyrics ring so true to what is going on in America

We need change and we need real change, I’m not saying where. I’m just so sick and tired of everyone being offended over everything and whatever your belief is, I must support it or I’m a racist, sexist, or some other kind of “ist” you can come up with. But whatever I believe in is totally wrong and you won’t even entertain a second of what I have to say. That is just ignorant, period.

Greetings Earth People, I'm Mia and Joe is allowing me to post on his blog as a guest blogger, I sure hope he knows what he is in for. I wanted to post about some of my pet peeves and he told me that he already has a guest blogger for that section, so I'm going to post about etiquette. Now this isn't some stuffy how-to have a dinner party BS with a half dozen different forks, this is more along the lines of don't be an asshat type of etiquette. The dictionary describes etiquette as "the customary code of polite behavior in society or among members of a particular profession or group.". I define it as, don't be that asshat that everyone hates.
