Injecting myself with bleach - NOT

I’m going to get away from posting about my medical issues for this post, please bear with me and no I’m not going to inject myself with bleach!!

{Stepping Onto the Soap Box}

I’m shocked, no, I’m amazed as to how stupid people truly are. This whole thing about the President suggesting that you should inject yourself with bleach. So let’s start with the actual transcript of what the President said on April 23, 2020.

President Trump: ” A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going to test that too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs? So it’d be interesting to check that. So you’re going to have to use medical doctors, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful.”

A few minutes later at that same conference…

ABC News chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl asked: “The president mentioned the idea of a cleaner, bleach, and isopropyl alcohol emerging. There’s no scenario where that could be injected into a person, is there?”

William Bryan, head of the science and technology directorate of the Department of Homeland Security:” No, I’m here to talk about the finds that we had in the study. We don’t do that within that lab at our labs.”

President Trump: “It wouldn’t be through injection. We’re talking about through almost a cleaning, sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work. But it certainly has a big effect if it’s on a stationary object.”

It didn’t take long for MSM to spin the hell out of it.

The New York Times – “Trump’s Suggestion That Disinfectants Could Be Used to Treat Coronavirus Prompts Aggressive Pushback”

CNN – “Don’t eat or inject yourself with disinfectant, warns FDA commissioner”

Even Snopes.com got it wrong (https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-disinfectants-covid-19), focusing only on the words and now how they were said.

Business Insider – “Bleach manufacturers have warned people not to inject themselves with disinfectant after Trump falsely suggested it might cure the coronavirus”

The Guardian – “‘Please don’t inject bleach’: Trump’s wild coronavirus claims prompt disbelief”

and so on…..

Then the official narrative got all twisted with replies:

The Washington Emergency Management (Washington State Military Department and its Emergency Management Division) – “Please don’t eat tide pods or inject yourself with any kind of disinfectant.”

The media added Tide Pods, Lysol isopropyl  alcohol, and Clorox

So let’s dissect what the President actually said.

I just don’t see how “And then I see the disinfectant, which it knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs.” – Is translated to inject Clorox or Lysol or as the ABC News chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl suggested isopropyl alcohol, being injected into the lungs.

The President, clearly stated that he has heard that a disinfectant that knocks it (it being Coronavirus) out in one minute. “And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute.” First, let me state that Lysol and Clorox (along with a host of other household cleaners) can and have been able to kill human coronavirus for many years now.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. A “novel” coronavirus (nCoV) is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans.

And though COVID-19 is in the coronavirus family, it is more accurately a novel coronavirus or a new coronavirus, so the ability of a household cleaner to completely kill the COVID-19 strain of coronavirus hasn’t been fully tested and documented, but it is a fairly safe bet that it will likely kill COVID-19 since it is in the coronavirus class.

But back to the President’s remarks. The above comment about a disinfectant killing the virus in a minute was followed by “And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning, ….”. So now he is speculating that maybe there is a possibility that there is a way to inject inside or do a cleaning of the human or human body with a disinfectant. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a list of over 350 disinfectants (https://www.epa.gov/pesticide-registration/list-n-disinfectants-use-against-sars-cov-2) for use against SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The funny thing is if you look at the list and start to perform Google searches, you will discover that scientists have already tried injecting many of these ‘disinfectant’ chemical compounds into rats and mice. And in some cases even had them inhale the chemical compounds. So the President’s comments aren’t that far off base, but I do say to him, shame on you for not more carefully watching your words.

Vintage Curtis Davis & Co soapbox

The last part of what the President said was “Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs.”, which is him simply talking about how COVID-19 is doing damage to the lungs. He never suggested injecting anything into the lungs.

So nowhere did he say “bleach”, “Lysol”, or “isopropyl alcohol”, those were all brand names and products that the MSM “injected” into the narrative to help sell their agenda. Nowhere did the Present state that people should inject themselves (https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8265665/Kansas-man-drank-cleaning-product-Trump-suggested-injecting-disinfectant-fight-coronavirus.html  ) and nowhere did the President state that we were or we will be doing any of this? That part of the briefing was about fighting the virus and he was simply speculating and tossing out ideas, just not in the correct forum.

I have been a HUGE proponent that the Government is airing out too much of its laundry and some things are meant to be behind closed doors like making these types of comments.
