Crappy Week For Medical Appts
I had two appointments today and to be 100%, I think that the medical industry has just given up on customer service. My first appointment is with my dentist, who I have been going to for about 5-6 years now. I arrived on time and wanted to speak with the manager (who in this case is the owner). I was told that he wasn’t available to talk with me and he had an appointment (I remained at the dentist’s office for close to an hour and he never had the nerve to come see me).
My problem is that I’m a “deadbeat” because I haven’t been paying my bills. Well, that isn’t the case. In fact, I pay my bill every time I leave the office after an appointment. At the end of July, I was told that I didn’t have a balance. However, Since that time, I have received several bills from the office, stating that I owe $608.00 for the first one and then 10 days later, I received a second bill stating that I now owe $2000.00 now. The strange point is that neither my wife nor I had been at the dentist’s office in the month of August, which is when I received these bills.
The really strange part is that the details on the two bills are blank, with nothing more than a handwritten number in the please pay box.
My wife and I both called and asked to see if we could speak to the accountant, but we never heard from them. I had an appointment this week and they would not see me until I pay the balance on the account, which according to the report I asked for, is not $2000. For some magical reason, it just keeps going up.
What bugs me is that no one wants to address the problem, it must be the deadbeat client.
I had an appointment on Friday and when I arrived, I was told that my appointment was canceled. When I asked why, I was just told that something came up. Okay, I get that, and things happen, but why in the world did you not tell the patient? I took time off work and used my gasoline for this “missed” appointment.
I swear they just no longer seemed to care anymore.
