Rivian - What Is All The Buzz?

First let me state that I’m in no way affiliated with Rivian, other than the fact that I dropped in on the IPO and picked up a share. I’m not compensated for this post.

Rivian is currently offering an electric pickup truck that, unlike the Tesla Cybertruck, actually looks like a pickup truck. Currently, if you want an electric pickup truck you have to choose from the Cybertruck (which is not in production but might start shipping in 2022), the Ford F-150 Lightning (shipping in spring 2022), and the Rivian R1T (shipping early 2022). The Chevy Silverado EV will make its debut at CES 2022, with no date for release yet. The GMC Hummer EV is expected to ship sometime in 2022 as well. The Bollinger B2 is still ‘vaporware’ (meaning it still isn’t in pre-production yet and may never make it). There were high hopes for the Lordstown Endurance, but they are still in limbo, as is the Atlis XT.

That means this post will talk about the Rivian R1T and hopefully, these videos will help you to make an informed choice to invest a little into Rivian

I myself am very much in the market for a new truck and after seeing what the Rivian R1T has to offer, I’m sold, but the price tag is steep.

It has four electric motors and delivers a combined 835 horsepower and 908 foot-pounds of torque and can go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.

I could talk about specs all day long, but here are several videos that really show you what the R1T has to offer.

Here is Kyle of Out of Spec Reviews – review of the R1T

Here is Marques Brownlee‘s review of the R1T

Here is Zach from JerryRigEverything and his review of the R1T
