Assassination of a President

*** SECRET SERVICE ALERT *** This post is in no way a threat against the current or future President of the United States.

I’m very concerned for our country, but it isn’t likely for the reason you would think. I’m concerned that a portion of the country was upset that the attempt on President Trump’s life was not a success. This post isn’t going to talk too much about “Orange Man is Bad“, but more on the mental health of this country.

We have five former Presidents who are still alive (Presidents Carter, Clinton, G.W. Bush, Obama, and Trump) and a sitting President who is alive(ish), well, let’s just say that his heart is pumping blood. When a former President passes away, there is a big funeral and all the ceremonies that go with it, we are talking about a flag-draped coffin, gun salutes, military aircraft fly-over, parades, and their body is laid in state at the U.S. Capitol rotunda so mourners can see the body and show their respects. World leaders from all over come to pay their respects, not to mention elaborate funerals themselves. Losing a former President is a big deal for the country and for the millions who liked that President.

The most recent Presidential funeral was for George H.W. Bush in 2018 (video above). In fact, since 2000, only four former Presidents have passed away (Nixon in 1994, Reagan in 2004, Ford in 2007, and G.W. Bush in 2018). The next likely to pass away of natural causes will most likely be Jimmy Carter who is currently 100 years old at the time this post was drafted. The last assassinated President was Kennedy (1963) and we all are familiar with that story.

Past assassination attempts against U.S. Presidents, where George W. Bush was attending a rally in Tbilisi when a grenade was thrown towards him. It did not explode. In 1981, President Reagan was shot by John Hinckley Jr. outside the Washington Hilton. It was reported that Reagan nearly died on the way to the ER. The bullet hit him in the left underarm, breaking a rib, puncturing a lung, and causing serious internal bleeding.

In 1975 President Ford escaped two assassination attempts (17 days apart), the first attempt was while Ford was in Sacramento, California and the attempt was made by Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme (a member of the Manson Family cult) who pulled an M1911 pistol and pulled the trigger without chambering a round in the gun. The second attempt was by Sara Jane Moore who fired two shots at the President from a .38 Special revolver, with both shots missing the President.

That was nearly 50 years ago and before that, the most recent assassination was President John F. Kennedy in 1963. Lee Harvey Oswald was approximately 65 feet away from the motorcade when he first pulled the trigger. The second and third shots were somewhere around 240 feet and 300 feet.

After Kennedy, the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) changed how they protect the President..

The Secret Service is mandated by Congress with two distinct and critical national security missions: protecting the nation’s leaders and safeguarding the United States’s financial and critical infrastructure.

When we talk protection, we are talking that they are tasked with ensuring the safety of the President of the United States, the Vice President of the United States, the President-elect of the United States, the Vice President-elect of the United States, and their immediate families; former presidents, their spouses and their children under the age of 16; those in the presidential line of succession, major presidential and vice-presidential candidates and their spouses; and visiting foreign heads of state and heads of government.

President Trump is protected by the USSS because he is a former President and a major presidential candidate. This means that the shit show we saw at Butler Farm Show Grounds in Pennsylvania on July 13th, 2024, was supposedly put on by the USSS. And I must say that if this is the best they offer, we are doomed.

We are talking about a 20-year-old with an AR-15-style rifle who was able to get within 400 feet of President Trump and managed to squeeze off eight rounds before being suppressed by a counter-sniper.

The USSS failed at its mission and not only failed by allowing their protectee to get shot at, but they failed on just about every level. So many questions need to be asked, and that is for another post. This post talks about how people in this country (many of them politicians) wanted the attempt against President Trump’s life to be a success.

As a country, regardless of how bad the politician is—and trust me, we have had some really bad examples lately—we should never want them dead. Let’s look at this from the world stage.

A President, sitting or past, being killed by an assassin is terrible for the overall country. Let’s take Biden and Trump as my examples (for the record, I do not wish anything bad to either of them). Trump was the President for four years, and if something happens to him, it will be a black mark on this country for years. Reagan was shot 43 years ago, and we still talk about it today. Kennedy was assassinated over 60 years ago, and there are large portions of this country that are still hurt by it. Just think of it this way: Over 46% of the country voted for Trump in the 2020 election, so nearly half of the government felt he was a better choice. So, if the assassination attempt was successful, at least his death would hurt many Americans. Believe it or not, many of those who didn’t vote for him, which would also be broken.

I’m not a President Biden fan, but you will notice that I respect the office (rank). In the Marine Corps, we were taught that we didn’t have to respect the person, but we had to respect the rank. I have run into many dumbass officers (and enlisted for that matter) that I felt couldn’t fight their way out of a wet paper bag, but I respected their rank and carried out their orders. As I said, I’m not a Biden fan, but I would not wish anything bad to happen to the man. He is the leader of this country, like it or not, and I respect that.

Having the man fall up the stairs or trip on the stage and stammer for words is a huge black eye for this country. We deserve and should have a strong person in that position. I’m not talking about muscle strength; I’m talking that they should be Presidential, a good strong leader, one that not only the other leaders in this country respect, but other countries also respect. Currently, we are the brunt of many jokes about President Biden. I’m not talking about the stammering for words, or what appears to be him shitting himself, or tripping and falling and forgetting this and that. I’m talking about how poor of a leader he is. Many countries used to look up to the United States, but that isn’t the case anymore. At least when Trump was in office, we were not on the brink of war like we are today.

You can say all you want that Trump was in bed with Putin, but during Trump’s term as President, we didn’t have to worry about war with Russia. The funny thing is there was never any proof that Trump and Putin were buds, and even if they were, it’s a big deal. They had respect for each other, and that was it. We didn’t have to worry about being on the brink of war with North Korea, Trump and Kim Jong Un were not only communicating with each other but also visiting each other’s country. You know, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. We weren’t on the brink of war with Iran, even though President Trump shit on them, by withdrawing from the Iran nuclear agreement and then killing a top Iranian commander in early 2020. But Iran knew better than to push too hard as Trump pushed back even harder.

We have given Ukraine over $175 billion in the past two years, and that is a war between two countries half a globe away from the United States.

Yesterday, I saw a meme that talked about voting for a pedophile to be President (it was referring to Trump), yet President Biden has been sniffing children for years, groping little girls for years, and taking baths and cringe-kissing his daughter for years. There was a meme a while back about electing someone who mishandled classified documents. Yet, Biden got off on mishandling classified documents because it would be difficult to convict a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory“. Yet, he is perfectly fine to lead the country. Not only that, but Biden also lied about his mishandling of documents. He stated that all the documents were in a locked cabinet, yet the FBI found documents in a cardboard box in the garage of his Wilmington, Delaware residence. I have a HUGE problem with mishandling classified information, but I have a much larger problem with people lying, period.

The average person needs to understand that classified documents are not to be left in a controlled space or handled by others who are not cleared. This means that taking any classified document home, storing it on your home email server in your bathroom, or even having it on your civilian smartphone is all against the law. However, there is a small loophole for a President, where the Presidential library, which is part of the National Archives, holds records from presidential administrations to include classified documents. For example, the library has 30 million pages of classified materials, 1,000 rolls of classified microfilm, and three terabytes of classified electronic records.

When a President leaves office, they are supposed to help the National Archives gather all the material for the library, including classified documents. President Trump argues that his cache of classified documents was destined for the archive. In the case of President Biden, the National Archives claimed to not know about the papers he had in his possession. It is also important to note that President Biden’s cache of documents went back more than 30 years.

This morning, I saw a meme of a person holding a sign that read “RIP Thomas Matthew Crooks, An American Hero”. This is what blows my mind: people hate Trump so much that they want him dead. They wished him dead while he was in office, and they want him dead now. But when you ask them why, you usually get an answer like “Orange Man is Bad“, “He is a racist“, or “He hates or disrespects women“.

Okay, I’ll say he is outspoken, but he is a multi-billionaire and has been most of his life. That is just who he is, and we are accustomed to being lied to by politicians. As an example, President Biden has kept 28% of his promises, with 10% being a compromise, 3% broken entirely, 31% stalled and 26% supposedly in the works (if they are not completed by Jan 19th, 2025 (is he is not re-elected) they will be considered broken, which would translate to 60% broken promises by President Biden in his first term.

President Trump kept 23% of his promises, 22% were met with a compromise, and 54% were broken. It is almost expected for them to break most of their promises, and honestly, I never put much stock in them. I can promise everyone ice cream is free daily. But once I’m elected, I need to figure out how to pay for it, manufacture it, store it, and distribute it. Then I’m faced with the anti-ice cream lobbyists and the pro-ice cream lobbyists who both want what they want.

The problem with campaign promises is that too many people put too much stock into them and they vote for a person based on a promise.

Stop voting for a promise, vote for the person who is best fo the country as a whole, not just your wallet!
