What is Wrong with Today's Military?

I think that this photo tells the story, there is no reason, not one single reason for these Air Force airmen to be acting like this. This is unsat, period and it really pisses me off.

Sad State of the Air Force

Now for the rest of the story:

The story goes that on April 28, 2019, Charlene Neisler of North Charleston, South Carolina was at her local Walmart when she ran across three women wearing Air Force uniforms, riding through the store using the electric scooters reserved for handicapped people at Walmart. When she confronted them, they stated “we worked 8 hours today”. She decided to take two photos of this behavior and posted them to an Air Force page on Facebook. She uploaded the photos to the ‘Air Force AMN/NCO/SNCO‘ page along with the caption “This is our modern day military!

As if that wasn’t bad enough, a video surfaced of the same three airmen suggestively dancing and twerking to music in uniform while at work with their squadron logo visible while at Joint Base Charleston. The photos and video quickly went viral.

The Air Force, quickly responded with, “I am disappointed in the actions of the Airmen. Their actions are not representative of the members of Joint Base Charleston,” said Col. Terrence Adams, commander of Joint Base Charleston. “We expect the utmost professionalism and respect from all of our service members.”

And quickly released on the Joint Base Charleston Facebook page with,

Team Charleston,
Joint Base Charleston leadership is currently addressing two posts from April 29, 2019 made on a recent Air Force meme page, Air Force amn/nco/snco.

In the posts, Airmen from Joint Base Charleston were shown riding on motorized scooters in uniform and dancing in the workplace.

“I am disappointed in the actions of the Airmen. Their actions are not representative of the members of Joint Base Charleston,” said Col. Terrence Adams, commander of Joint Base Charleston. “The Airmen are being identified and unit leadership is addressing the situation accordingly. We expect the utmost professionalism and respect from all of our service members.”

Personally, it is something that I will never understand. You can act like that out of uniform and not show that you are in the Air Force. I recall in the 80s and 90s there was a policy restricting such behaviors while in uniform or while representing your branch of the military.

Yes, we did some really stupid things, but there wasn’t a camera everywhere and we were not uploading proof of our antics for the whole world to see.

The really sad part was some of the comments posted both good and bad about these photos and videos

“Let’s clarify this. They were riding on HANDICAP motorized scooters preventing people like myself, a 100% Disabled American Air Force Female Veteran, from having access to one if needed. This shows total disrespect these Airmen have for the handicapped who have enough trouble getting around and enduring pain just to sustain their lives …”

“Scooters are not needed at all these stores.. The people that need them for the most part have them. Having Scooters at every store is nonsense and encourages people who do not need a scooter to use them anyway. Next time you go to the store pay close attention to the person on the scooter. Catering to people who can walk, but don’t want to is silliness. Now you can tell how horrible I am.”
