Way To Go Navy!

You can’t make this shit up. This series of photos appeared on the Navy’s official Twitter page, of a hull maintenance technician aboard the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). There is nothing outwardly wrong with the post until you look closely at the photos.

Here is a closer look at the photo that caused the Navy’s latest PR nightmare.

It deserves a closer look

I’ll highlight the problem in the photo in case you missed it. I know that I did the first time.

I eat ass

If you look at his gloves they spell out I EAT ASS and a heart sign. Stay classy Navy!

Of course, I had to validate this, and sure enough a quick Google search, and here is Alamy.com pimping the photos for money, with the following description: YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 27, 2024) Hull Maintenance Technician 2nd Class James Burrous, from Richmond, Texas, uses a circular saw to cut a piece of metal to shape during a repair in the metalsmith shop of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), while in-port Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Feb. 27. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships, and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
