Meditation

Not only am I working on my physical self, but in this COVID world, I find that my mental self needs work as well. One of the things I have been doing is meditation. Now let me explain, first the old me was a firm believer that, acupuncture and therapy are all bull shit, but I figured I would give it a try.

You don’t need to sit on the floor, with your legs crossed and your palms up, however, it is relaxing. The key is to start within five minutes or so and graduate up.

I have been practicing meditation for a month now and dare I say it, it actually works for me.

Now, once you are comfortable with no distractions (including pets and cell phones), turn on your soothing sounds and focus on your breathing. I say to myself, inhale, exhale, which helps me keep my mind focusing on this exercise and not wandering. If you get distracted, re-center and continue. It will take some effort at first, but then it just happens.

When your time is done, don’t just jump up, slowly come back to reality, and then stand up. Take your time. This whole exercise is about you.

I started with a good How to Meditate video on YouTube

I’m currently only meditating twice a day for five minutes each time, but I’m working on eight-minute sessions.

I’m finding that for me the relaxing sounds of waves crashing over the beach work well for me. I’m using a video on YouTube called 5 minutes of Sand and Sea.

I highly recommend that you give it a try and learn to get your mind centered and well, not just your body.

Note: I highly recommend that you either purchase a YouTube service so you can skip the commercial ads, or use a browser plug-in that allows for the ads to be skipped. It will really destroy your meditation session if a commercial for getting a firmer and stronger erection interrupts your relaxing soundtrack. 🙂
