Why My Spelling And Grammar Suck
Yes, I have been educated, in fact, I was an “A” student for most of my childhood education. Actually part of the problem is that I have mild dyslexia, where I swap letters around (it is worse in my handwriting than when I type, but I still do it when typing. The second problem is that my mind historically runs amuck and my body struggles to keep up with it. If I’m sitting at my keyboard and the television is on and I’m interested in what is on the screen, I will just type, full-composed sentences, but they are certainly not what the hell I was thinking, lol.
The final problem is that my medications wreak havoc on my OCD. I can literally walk right by something or someone that I’m looking for. It is scary at times. As an example, every night at the farm, I walk the concrete wall and collect the hay net bags, we use to feed hay to the horses. I have literally walked by the bags several times and just do not see them. It is really freaky.
I’m one of those people who lay down at night to go to sleep and struggle as their brain is trying to solve world hunger. I used to be able to multitask with the best of them, often doing more than three things at once. Not today, I have to focus on what I’m doing or I end up with a mess and when I look at the results, I can’t even figure out what in the hell I was thinking about, lol. If you have never experienced it, it is very strange, and in my case, if I’m typing a word and I stumble on the correct spelling, my brain will just stuff a letter there. So proof-reading later is so much fun.
Today, I have to do things a little slower and pay more attention. I use Grammarly to help me along the way, but I still have dyslexia issues, which really show up on my blog all the time. Because of have to slow things down, I tend to write using much simpler words and keep everything simple so I can figure out what I am talking about. If I start to use bigger words and hammer the hell out of them when I’m drafting a post when I finally look up at the screen, I have a ton of red lines and Grammarly is screaming for me to stop making words up, lol. I’m waiting for the day, that Grammarly sends me an email, telling me that I have to go piss off and I’m screwing up their AI, by the way I type. I can see it now:
Dear Mr. Average,
It has come to our attention that you personally have caused three of our AI servers to overheat and you even caught one on fire. When we look at the transaction logs, the AI, we literally crying and begging for you to stop. We can no longer financially maintain your account with Grammarly, so please piss off.
Signed,
Grammarly
If my usage of the English language seems to bother you to the extent that you can’t get over it, I suggest that you purchase me a paid Grammarly account, which should help me and that will in turn help you.

Welcome to the Average Joe Weekly blog. This is basically my place on the web where I can help spread some of the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years. I served 10+ years in the Marine Corps on Active Duty, but that was some 25 years ago.
