Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Darin Taylor Hoover, 31, was a Marine from Salt Lake City, Utah, attached to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.
He was on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan and had been a Marine for 11 years.
Taylor was motivated to join the military when he was 11 years old and watched 9/11 unfold.
He is a graduate of the class of 2008 from Hillcrest High School.
He is survived by his father, mother, two sisters, and his fiancée.
