Soldier of the Year 2021 - Sgt. Ezra Maes

A portrait of grit and self-sacrifice, Sgt. Ezra Maes did the unthinkable in order to try to help a teammate: he amputated his own leg after a tank accident. Forging ahead following his injury, Maes now sets an example for how to carry forward following a setback.
