Lance Corporal Jared M. Schmitz

Marine Corps LCpl Jared Schmitz, 20, was a Marine from St. Charles, Missouri, attached to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. He was on his first deployment to Afghanistan, being transferred from Jordan.

Jared graduated from Fort Zumwalt South High School in 2019 and joined Marine Corps Boot Camp in 2020.

Being a Marine is something Jared always wanted to do.
