DMV SCAM

A good friend passed this one on to me. He received a text message from the “DMV”. It was actually a phishing scam. They are phishing acting like the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) and want you to go to a website to update your information. The texts come from (804) 508-6410 which is a spoofed number. The website (blurred to avoid others from going to it) is nothing but a Google document with a submit button. But it is asking for a bunch of critical personal information, like your driver’s license number, your full name, your SSN, your birth day, your height and address.

Do NOT fall for these SCAMs, the DMV will never ask you to fill out this type of information. If so you will need to log on and they will have you validate (meaning that they will already have the information, they just want to make sure it is correct). If they have the information and are asking  you to validate it, then it is likely not a SCAM.
