A Nail In Horse Hoof
It was time for the horses to get their normally scheduled hoof trimming. As we were waiting for the farrier to arrive, my wife and daughter started to pick (clean) the horses’ hooves. If you notice, there appears to be a piece of metal, maybe a bent nail, in the upper left of the horse’s hoof.
We left it for the farrier, who quickly removed the item and determined that it did not penetrate any sensitive part of the hoof. It turned out that it was a Galvanized Staple or a U-shape nail. We got lucky; we only had to treat it and keep the hoof wrapped for a few days, and all was well.
Thankfully, Finn didn’t seem to have any lasting problems with this incident.
