Small Business Marketing
This is the first in a series of small business marketing posts.
Like many of the examples I use in my blog posts, the fictitious company is “AAA Carpet and Rugs”, and their slogan is “you can walk on us”. The owner has often fallen for most of the gimmick marketing tricks over the years. That is why he named the company AAA Carpet and Rugs because “AAA” would appear first in the phone book. But we have progressed well beyond the phone book and the “AAA” trick no longer works. We fast forward to 2021 and small business marketing has evolved and many small businesses have not.
In 2021, the phone book is nearly obsolete, if you don’t believe that is true, take a trip to your local recycling station and look in the paper containers, they are filled with phone books.
Your small business needs to be online and not just with a website. You need Social Media, Local Citations, Customer Reviews, Google My Business, Yelp! and so much more in order to grow. This series of posts will hopefully help you with that.

Welcome to the Average Joe Weekly blog. This is basically my place on the web where I can help spread some of the knowledge that I have accumulated over the years. I served 10+ years in the Marine Corps on Active Duty, but that was some 25 years ago.
