Marine Corps Cadence

***NOTE*** This was written during my trip, but I forgot to post it

Sitting in my room, I just finished watching FMJ for the millionth time (it’s a Marine thing), when suddenly new words to a Marine Corps cadence came to my mind.

Up in the morning with the rising sun
I’m gonna work all day until the work is done

Class today was a son of a bitch
I’m so damn tired I just wanted to ditch

I don’t know but I’ve been told
Traveling like this just never gets old

I love travelin’ all week long
Let me know how many things can go wrong

My government credit bounced nice and high
The bill is paid so I don’t know why

Sitting in my room I’m bored as hell
So I went out for a walk and I almost fell

The door to the pool is locked tight
So I go outside and look up at the flight

Hotel internet is such a joke
If you use it you will surely go broke

I know for us sure that travelin’ is getting old
I grabbed a Cinnabon and it was covered in mold

I just want this trip to be done
So I can go back to life and have some fun.

Ok – pretty cheesy right, but hey, I was bored.

Did I ever tell you that I meet GySgt Hartman (R. Lee Ermey)? He was the guest of honor at one of our Marine Corps balls.
