First Enbrel Injection

I was a little nervous about this as I really want this to work and from what I read online, most people who are taking it, it worked miracles for them. I hope it will do the same for me.

My Rheumatologist wanted me to stop by her office so she could give me my first injection and a couple of samples so I could start right away and the samples would hold me over until my prescription started.

The first shot was fairly painless, I only wish that they would have taken it out of the refrigerator sooner and it was cold when she injected it, which made it sting, but not terrible compared to the RA pain.

My Rheumatologist gave me two samples to hold me over until my prescription arrives. I’m very grateful to her for providing me with them.

On the way home, I immediately felt my stomach start to get upset and turn. It wasn’t long before I started to feel nauseated and got a little dizzy.

I had already prepared for these side effects, which are listed as common side effects on the Enbrel website, but on the Facebook groups, it seems like everyone experienced these for the first few weeks. So I took the next week off from work and planned to Telework the following week if needed.
