Paying It Forward

This morning on my way to work, I stopped for my weekly vice, Chick-Fil-A for breakfast. I ordered my usual, which is a #1 meal with a Coke and a hot buttered biscuit, and strawberry jelly. The line was unusually long today, but I waited it out, and when I was one car away from the window. I noticed that the employee and the lady in the car in front of me were having a rather lengthy conversation about something. A minute or so later, she moved and it was my turn, I pulled up to the window, and the employee told me that the car before me paid for my meal. I said, “oh, thank you, I will pay for the car behind me”. It worked out rather well for me, as the car behind me had just ordered a #2 meal with a sweet tea. So I got a little price break and I continued the trend of paying it forward.

This is not the first time that I have paid it forward. I have many times in the past, paid for the police officer or firefighter behind me in line, and several times for a complete stranger. This is however the first time that someone had paid it forward for me. And it is a nice feeling. Thank you to whoever paid it forward today at the Fredericksburg RT3 Chick-fil-a.
