I Can't Believe What The Vice President Said
I can’t believe that the Vice President of the United States, with a straight face, told reporters that today, January 6th (the anniversary of the “attack” on the Capitol) ranks up there as the day that the Japanese attacked the United States of America at Pearl Harbor. The attack that got the U.S. into World War II. Yep, the same attack where ninety minutes after it began, the attack was over. 2,008 sailors were killed and 710 others wounded; 218 soldiers and airmen (who were part of the Army prior to the independent United States Air Force in 1947) were killed and 364 wounded; 109 Marines were killed and 69 wounded; and 68 civilians were killed and 35 wounded. In total, 2,403 Americans were killed, and 1,143 were wounded. Eighteen ships (USS Utah (BB-31), USS Helena (CL-50), USS Raleigh (CL-7), USS Honolulu (CL-48), USS Cassin (DD-372), USS Downes (DD-375), USS Helm, USS Shaw (DD-373), USS Oglala, USS Vestal, USS Curtiss (AV-4), USS Sotoyomo (YTM-9), YFD-2)were sunk or run aground, including five battleships (USS Arizona (BB-39), USS Oklahoma (BB-37), USS West Virginia (BB-48), USS California (BB-44), and USS Nevada (BB-36)).
She compared the “attack” on the Capitol to September 11, 2001, you know the little-known day where 2,977 people (I refuse to count the 19 dead al-Qaeda terrorists) lost their lives. I’m sure you have a very vague memory of a plane or two flying into the World Trade Center twin towers, another plane gently tapped on the side of the Pentagon and one did some acrobatics in the sky over Pennsylvania.
Yep, the day when a mean old man with a bad haircut, supposedly caused a riot, where people “attacked” the Capitol and still walked within the rope lines through the Great Rotunda. The same attack where Capitol police are seen and recorded removing barriers and motioning and even ushering in the “attackers”. Yes, sadly 5 people died during this “attack” (1 from a gunshot, 1 from a drug overdose, and 3 from natural causes), and 4 police officers died by suicide in the aftermath of the attack.
Yep, I see the comparison, when you are a violent mob and you are attacking the U.S. Capitol, you make sure you have enough respect to stay within the rope line.
