Hydroxychloroquine - Day 27

Wow, not sure what is going on today, but I’m out of it. Maybe I overdid it last night (annual bonfire for Halloween)? Not sure, But today, I couldn’t get out of bed and when I did, I was so sore and stiff (much more than normal.)

Every joint in my body was painful (I ended up putting on my compression socks, knee and elbow sleeves, and gloves). It felt like the time when I ended up going cold turkey off of a month-long 80mg a day dosage of prednisone (that night I laid on the kitchen floor in the fetal position crying in pain all night long).

I was up for about three hours this morning and went to take a nap and couldn’t get out of bed that time either.

It is now 8 p.m., I’m still sore, I can feel every painful and stiff joints, I have zero energy and I can’t think straight.

I’m thinking that this is a flare-up, but not sure if it is the Fibro, RA, or the side effects from the Hydroxychloroquine.

I have to work tomorrow, I hope I feel well enough to survive that adventure. Hell, I just hope I can make it out of bed in the morning.

The Penguin Walk**Note** The normal for me is that I get out of bed and I have trouble finding my footing. I tend to “wobble” my way through the bedroom, bounding off of things as I go, I call this the “penguin walk”. The stiffness lasts for a good 10-15 minutes, a hot shower does help greatly, but getting in and out of the shower can sometimes be a challenge. As for pain, I can normally deal with the pain and when I can’t I put on my compression “suit” (gloves, socks, knee braces) and just deal with it. The good thing is that on most days, the Gabapentin works well to keep things at a dull enough roar that I can function. Not today 🙁

I so never pictured myself as this guy, I was always on the go and ready for anything, ugh.
