My Experience With COVID and Paxlovid
When I contracted COVID, I, fortunately, didn’t get a very strong case of it. I popped a fever of 102 (102.7 was the highest) for about 24 hours. I coughed for about 24 hours prior to the fever. I didn’t get prescribed Paxlovid until about 48 hours after my fever broke (yes, I know that is late, but I had to do with where I was and when I got an official PCR test).
I was quarantined in our spare room for a full week, and when I emerged, I had bronchitis. If you follow my blog, you will notice I get bronchitis often. It took me nearly a full month to kick its ass this time around.
I saw an article recently about President Biden taking Paxlovid and that reminded me that I wanted to make a post about it and how freaking nasty it tastes and smells and how I don’t think it actually did anything for me.
Yes, I’m vaccinated, but that wasn’t my choice. My employer required it or I could kiss my job goodbye. So I folded and got the shot, I just didn’t have the energy to fight that battle, but I wish I would have. I’m not against vaccinations (in fact most of us that the media labels as anti-vaxxers are not against vaccinations in general), I’m against this vaccination because of how fast they were made and how little testing they got. Yes, I’m aware that they have been playing around with coronavirus for many years as well as mRNA.

When they developed the mumps vaccine in four years, that was a record as it was taking around 10-15 years on average to develop a vaccine. It took over 100 years to develop the typhoid fever vaccine and nearly 30 years for the influenza vaccine; nearly 50 years for polo. It took 40 years to develop the vaccine for Ebola. Yet, all these companies ( Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, Janssen, Novavax, and AstraZeneca) made their COVID-19 vaccinations available in under a year as well. In fact, Novavax (at the time of the release of their COVID-19 vaccine) hadn’t even had a vaccine approved by the FDA, yet they designed their COVID-19 vaccine in under a year). Doesn’t that seem a little odd to you?
