Who is MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson)?

Well, that is easy, MrBeast is Jimmy Donaldson of Greenville, North Carolina, done!

{tires screetching} Not so fast, that isn’t what I meant. You know exactly what I meant, now get busy and make the damn post.

MrBeast is the gaming handle of 24-year-old Jimmy Donaldson, of Greenville, North Carolina. Let’s rewind 10 years ago to 2012 when Jimmy uploaded his very first YouTube video at the age of 13. His handle was MrBeast6000 and most of his videos were focused on the insanely popular Minecraft and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 games. This very first video (February 2012) was “Worst Minecraft Saw Trap Ever??“. It was crazy popular for people to upload videos of them playing a game. I know that my son would spend hours watching them when he was younger.

Over the years, Jimmy has really matured and so did his channel. And as Jimmy matured, he decided to use his extreme popularity for good. Today, Jimmy and his friends, Chris Tyson (Jimmy’s oldest friend and his first subscriber), Chandler Hallow (once Jimmy’s janitor and now a fan favorite), Garrett Ronalds, Karl Jacobs, and Jake Franklin make videos that get millions of views. He likes to make videos, where he helps someone, like videos where he tips waiters and waitresses with large amounts of money, like in the video “Tipping Waitresses with Real Gold Bars” or giving money to homeless people, like in the video “Giving A Random Homeless Man $10,000“, and when he isn’t making these types of videos he is busy creating large entertaining productions like “World’s Largest Bowl Of Cereal” or “100 Person Extreme Hide & Seek!“, “100 Girls Vs 100 Boys For $500,000“, and the multi-million dollar ($3.5 million to produce) production “$456,000 Squid Game In Real Life!“.

The more entertaining productions appeal to a larger audience and those “views” and “subscriptions”, allow him to land larger sponsorship deals, and larger sponsors paid not only do the larger productions but pay for his philanthropy projects.

MrBeast / Jimmy Donaldson operates several popular YouTube channels: MrBeast, Beast Reacts, MrBeast Gaming, MrBeast Shorts, and Beast Philanthropy (BeastPhilanthropy.org). Beast Reacts is the channel where MrBeast and friends react to other YouTube videos. MrBeast Gaming is where Jimmy uploads all his gaming videos. MrBeast Shorts is where he uploads his YouTube shorts. YouTube shorts, is a short-form video-sharing platform by YouTube. Videos are limited to 60 seconds and are insanely popular. Since its launch, YouTube Shorts has accumulated over 5 trillion views.

Beast Reacts
One of the experiments that Jimmy tried was Beast Reacts, where Jimmy and his friends, react to other YouTube videos. They reacted to things like: “Most Expensive Fails!“, “Insanely Satisfying Magnetic Liquid“, “World’s Largest Water Tunnel!“. Beast Reacts has close to 20 million subscribers.

MrBeast Gaming
Jimmy and his friends make videos of them playing games or videos about games, which ironically are insanely popular. MrBeast Gaming has over 29 million followers and growing. MrBeast Gaming made videos like “100 Youtuber Minecraft Battle Royale!“, “Worst vs Ultra Realistic Graphics!“, and “I Made My Own Country In Minecraft!

MrBeast Shorts
MrBeast Shorts has 16 million subscribers and growing. They have made shorts like “First Person Who Buys My Chocolate Wins $10,000“, “Giving Strangers $10,000 If They Watch My Money“, and “Gordon Ramsay Tries Most Expensive Chocolate Bar

MrBeasts, popularity wasn’t always like this. It took over 5 years for Jimmy to get a sponsorship deal ($10,000) and with that money, he wanted to do good and not keep the money for himself. True to his word, Jimmy gave that money away, and he wanted to do more. Over the next few months, Jimmy started to give money away to Uber drivers, pizza delivery drivers, and Twitch streamers. You can follow how he has grown, he put together this video titled “Evolution of MrBeast (2012-2022)

This fueled the fire and Jimmy wanted to make the world a better place, so Beast Philanthropy was born. Beast Philanthropy is a non-profit 501.c3 charity organization. Their mission statement is: Beast Philanthropy exists to leverage the power of social media platforms and raise funds to alleviate hunger, homelessness, and unemployment. Two months after that, they stated that they have served a million meals and are averaging giving away 80,000 meals per month.

When he isn’t filling food pantries, he is working on videos like ” I Adopted EVERY Dog in a Dog Shelter”, “You Changed This Family’s Life!” and “Cleaning the Ocean!“. He has also been able to use his fame (and fellow YouTuber, Mark Rober) for good, by starting such organizations as Team Trees and Team Seas, which help the environment, by planting trees and cleaning the oceans. The first Philanthropy video was “I Opened My Own Charity!“, which explains how his new charity works and operates. Subscribe to Beast Philanthropy today and join over 10 million other subscribers.
