Spotsylvania County, Virginia (where I reside) is being featured on On Patrol: Live, from December 2 through Feb 4, 2023. On Patrol: Live is on Reelz and if you don’t have cable, then it is available on Philo. Philo is a digital streaming service, for just $25 a month.

This episode was S01E52 broadcast on January 21, 2023. Camera crews tagged along with Spotsylvania Sheriff Deputy Sgt Pittman and Deputy Jackson. They featured three Spotsylvania incidents in this episode.

** I will only mention the names of individuals who were arrested. Those arrest records are available online in several places and in the local news media as well.

This episode lasted 3 hours with Spotsylvania being featured two times.

Today’s theme seemed to be harassing the police. This episode really highlights the bull shit that police officers across the U.S. have to put up with. They rarely have to the person who is going to allow the officer to take control of the situation and take their ticket and move on. The first three incidents are the police listening to a ton of BS and taking the abuse. And the officers were not only professional but they went easy on the people.

Most of the calls today, were very short and sweet. Most were really not much to report on here. A Women Screaming turned out to be a dog fight, and several traffic stops received warnings. Car accident in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The audio on most of the Daytona Beach calls, sucked as there was a race at the speedway (IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship) so there was a bunch of noise in the background. A 911 hangup (butt dial) at a family party. An illegally parked vehicle in front of a bar. A one-minute chase ending in a successful PIT. Several incidents where the person was obviously mentally handicapped, and I really don’t like showing those incidents here. And a few traffic stops, but really not too much excitement.

Incident 1

Spotsylvania Deputy 1st Sgt Pittman made a traffic stop on Plank Road, the driver moved into the BJ’s Wholesale parking lot. He approached the car and the lady was super chatty, trying to talk herself out of a ticket that she wasn’t getting.

He pulled her over as she was watching a cooking show while she was driving. He let her go with a warning.

The production staff for On Patrol: Live tagged the screen with “Not today Rachael Ray“

Incident 2

Spotsylvania Deputy 1st Sgt Pittman is making rounds at a commuter parking lot, it looks like the lot behind Planet Fitness (old Ukrops) on Route 3 and Salem Church. He notices some headlights so he heads over to investigate. He finds a young couple getting it on in the back seat of the car.

He checks her age and makes sure that she is there of her own free will and then tells them that they need to find a better place and he leaves.

I wonder who’s marriage is in trouble tonight, lol

As he leaves, we get to see a shot of his 2016 Caprice LS with a Corvette motor, that helped him yesterday in the chase.

Daytona Beach, FL

The episode opens with Dayton Beach Police Department officer Mike Bryant and his cameraman quickly getting into their car to respond to a shooting. This is obvious that this was them responding to a call, just to put it on TV. This call has authorized the use of long guns (AR-15 style). It appears that some of the officers have not trained much with their ARs as they are very awkward with them, however, Sgt Bryant deserves some kudos for making sure that all the officers on the scene are safe and comfortable with the AR. I do wish that police departments had more training in these types of situations. I understand that they are not Marines, but it was painful to see them standing in front of windows (for cover) and how many times the muzzle of the rifle was floating around at times pointing at other officers. They need to be more aware of where their muzzle is pointing. The female Sgt on the radio, who was in command of this incident, really needed to own the scene, practice, practice, practice. Sgt Bryant was floating all over the scene, which is really good.

The guy they have in custody needs a good ol’ fashion introduction to humility and I applaud those officers for maintaining their professionalism. This guy is a real piece of work. Cursing out the EMTs who are trying to remove the taser barbs. “Be a man, just rip it out”. I’m sure the EMT really did in fact want to jam it in a little deeper, wiggle it around some, and then rip it out, but like the cops, he too was very professional.

Then his vest falls off his shoulder and he spends the next few minutes disrespecting the police and telling them to put his vest back on.

I’m not sure if this guy is part of a motorcycle club, a gang, or just an asshole on his own. He is wearing a Heathen Nation t-shirt.

The EMT was simply trying to help the man and do his job, and this asshat, just opens up on him in a verbal assault, cursing him out and calling him names.

The whole time, he kept egging everyone on and telling them to whip his ass. Refusing to allow the EMT to take his BP, repeatedly yelling “kiss my ass” and “you ain’t shit“.

Sgt Bryant, just stood there allowing this guy to berate him. I’m not sure how this guy who is all of 165 pounds is going to take on Sgt Bryant who is all of 300 pounds.

I love Dan Abrams’ comment “He seems like a lovely little racist right there“, LOL

Good job guys for acting professionally.

A special call out to Sgt Bryant, for not only taking that verbal abuse but for making sure that he tells his officers that they did a good job and maintained their professionalism. This comes in the wake of the 5 Memphis officers being charged with beating and killing Tyre Nichols.

Beech Grove,IN

They respond to a traffic accident to find a small fender bender and a drunk driver. This incident was very short, but the drunk driver is really chatty. Here is the one-sided conversation he is having

“I love you guys and I put on a uniform”
“I pissed my pants”
“I was trying to get home so I can change my pants”
“I love you man”
“You guys put uniforms like I do”
“I clean the parking garage”
“I wave at them all the time”

He thinks that being a janitor is the same as being a cop, lol. Most of the scene is the officers putting plastic down as the guy pissed himself.

It seems that most people do not understand the laws about videotaping or taking photos. Basically, the law is that if it is in public and anyone can see it, then the photographer/videographer does not require permission to film. Here is an article about Photographer’s Rights.
